Collin County the home base of Senate hopeful Ken Paxton and a longtime GOP stronghold, Democrat James Talarico was leading with 56% of the vote and Democratic gubernatorial challenger Gina Hinojosa was leading Gov. Greg Abbott with 53%. In Tarrant County, a purple county that includes Fort Worth, Talarico was leading with 60% of early votes. In Starr County a predominately Hispanic border county that swung to President Trump in 2024, Talarico was leading with 79% of early votes.
