The European Central Bank is looking at all data arriving before its final interest-rate meeting of the year, Chief Economist Philip Lane said as markets continue to lean toward a hike.

While the ECB kept borrowing costs unchanged last month, officials are signaling a willingness to raise them again in December. Inflation quickened to double the ECB’s 2% target in October, while third-quarter economic growth was solid, at 0.4%.

Officials decided it was time “to say, let’s gather the information between now and December and see what we do in December,” Lane said Friday in Frankfurt.
